Sometimes your device may run slowly because you have too many applications or a virus; learn how to speed up Windows 10 to the fullest.
Over the years, operating systems slow down. This is because their updates become heavier and may struggle to run on devices with little RAM. But even if your computer is not the latest model, we will show you how to speed up Windows 10 to the fullest.
Check if the device is infected
The first thing you should do is check the causes that may be making your device slow. For this, it is advisable to regularly use an antivirus. You can use a paid one or any of the free ones available, as they are equally effective against this malware that consumes many computer resources and, of course, considerably slows down its operation. You should run the antivirus regularly to ensure your device is fully protected.
To prevent your device from getting viruses, it is important not to install unlicensed programs, as these often include malicious files that can infect your device and worsen its performance.
Generally, a device can run slowly due to leftover files from uninstalled applications and temporary files, as well as entries generated in the Windows registry. It is important to clean these types of files and restart your device.

Restart the computer and uninstall programs
Due to the heavy use some people give their computer for work reasons, the device may stay on or in hibernation for weeks. This is not good for the PC because while the device is on, Windows runs hundreds of simultaneous processes involving installations, uninstallations, and continuous writes to the hard drive. Also, these Windows tasks can leave suspended processes that consume system resources and the device’s processor. To end these processes, it is advisable to restart the computer at least once a week.
Another reason you may notice your computer running slowly is because you have installed applications and programs you no longer use. These will be working in the background without you realizing it and consuming resources, which over time will slow down the device’s performance. Therefore, it is advisable to review the installed programs and remove those you do not use regularly. To do this, simply access the control panel and click on programs. Then, a list of everything installed on your computer will open; you should find the one you want to remove and uninstall it.
Optimize the startup process
Another way to make the device start faster is to activate the so-called "fast startup," which is usually turned off by default. You will find it by going to Power Options > choose what the power buttons do > change settings that are currently unavailable > activate fast startup.
Within this startup process, there are also applications that run right when the computer turns on, which slows it down. We can also make these run once the device has started. To do this, you should click on Cortana and then on run. A text box will open where you should type: services.msc, and a list of programs that run at startup will appear. Then, after selecting the program, click on Startup type and properties and select delayed automatic startup.
With these simple tricks, you will make your Windows 10 operating system run faster so you can optimize all the tasks you need to perform with your computer, both for leisure and work.
