Discover how the final went
Fans of rhymes with meaning and urban tone were able to attend the National Final Red Bull Battle of the Roosters 2020 of Spain at the end of October. There, the man from Málaga, Skone, who had already been crowned champion in the 2016 final, took the title again, thus becoming the Spanish representative in the International Final.
José Miguel Manzano Bazalo, better known among his followers as Skone, reappeared at this classic event after 3 years without taking part in this contest. He had already won it in 2016, the year in which he also became the international champion of the Red Bull Battle of the Roosters 2016 held in Peru.
With this record behind him, Skone came to compete with some greats like Blon, Gazir, or Khan. After the Last Chance event, in which Khan was precisely defeated, a total of 19 roosters secured their place in the final.
In the round of sixteen match against Srk, Skone showed his skill and confidence by defeating the newcomer. From there he moved on to the quarterfinals and faced Sweet Pain, whom he again overcame thanks to his experience. Then, in the semifinal round, he battled Mnak, who, although he showed a high level in his battle against Elekipo, could not surpass the man from Málaga, and Skone inevitably advanced to the grand final.
There he awaited another veteran and old acquaintance of Skone, Blon, whom he had already faced in the quarterfinals of the 2014 National Final. On that occasion, as in this one, the result was the same: victory for Skone.
The emotional touch was given by the champion himself, who was clear that, if he lifted the trophy, he would share the throne with his companion and friend Chuty, who could not attend due to testing positive for COVID-19.
Some of the rhymes that pleased the jury the most were "I do it for the people who always love me, I don’t want to win, I want to fix their 2020" or "I win again like in the last edition, because daddy has returned home and everything remains as it was".
On December 12, Skone will delight us again with his lyrics and rhymes representing Spain in the International Final Red Bull Battle of the Roosters 2020 to be held in the Dominican Republic. Alongside the finalists from different countries, the top three places from the 2019 International Final will compete, including the fellow Spaniard Bnet, as well as the Colombian Valles-T and the Mexican Aczino.
