· The Spanish technology brand launches the second phase of the innovative SPC Care development, the first remote care app that allows caregivers and relatives of elderly people comprehensive control of their mobile device remotely.
· Through the SPC Care Personal Health Assistant feature, caregivers will be able to fill out a text template in their app with the elderly person's medication intake information, which will automatically be transformed into a voice message that senior users will receive as a phone call on their mobile at the exact time of intake, reminding them of the prescribed medication.
· SPC also unveils SPC ZEUS 2 PRO and SPC ZEUS 2, the first smartphones compatible with SPC Care for comprehensive and personalized management of the health, care, and safety of the elderly, remotely controllable through the app.
SPC, the Spanish consumer electronics brand, presented at MWC 2025 the evolution of its innovative project SPC Care with the launch of the Personal Health Assistant, a feature that will greatly facilitate assistance work for elderly people as it allows programming medication reminders that seniors will receive as phone calls directly on their phones. This new technological solution adds to the other functionalities that SPC Care currently offers, such as total remote management of the senior's mobile phone, SPAM protection, locating the elderly person, and safety alerts.
Thanks to its expertise in technological development and its focus on the senior industry, where almost 6 out of every 10 basic mobile phones (non-smartphones) sold in the unlocked phone market in Spain are SPC brand (according to data from the consultancy GfK– An NIQ Company from December 2024), the company has developed new functionalities for SPC Care, the first comprehensive remote management app for mobile phones, aiming to remotely monitor the well-being of senior users and promote healthy aging.
Personal Health Assistant: medication reminders by call and safety alerts for caregivers
Aware of the situation many families with elderly people around them face with concern, often unable to be physically close 24/7 to ensure they take their medication correctly and rigorously, SPC has been working recently on a new technological development to solve this issue.
The new Personal Health Assistant integrated into the SPC Care app allows caregivers or relatives to create personalized medication reminders from the app that the elderly person will receive as a phone call through a clear and concise voice message with the information about the medicine they need to take at that exact moment.
The process is simple: the caregiver fills out a very simple and intuitive template in the app, specifying the medication name, dosage, frequency, and time, and schedules it. At the scheduled time, the senior user receives an automated call on their mobile phone where a voice message reminds them of the medication they must take at that moment.
With the same philosophy with which the brand launched SPC Care last year, the revolutionary Personal Health Assistant feature not only looks after the care and well-being of elderly people but also provides security, peace of mind, and convenience to caregivers. So much so that if one of these medical alerts is not answered by the cared-for person, the system automatically generates a notification to the caregiver alerting them of the situation through the app. This alert allows the caregiver to assess the situation and, if necessary, reschedule a new personalized voice message to ensure the elderly person receives it, responds to it, and follows their medication schedule, all without needing to spend time or effort traveling or being physically present with them.
To achieve this, the new SPC Care feature uses TTS (Text-to-Speech) technology, a system that employs advanced artificial intelligence and natural language processing techniques to convert written text into spoken words, ensuring the message is delivered clearly and accurately directly to the cared-for person's phone.
SPC ZEUS 2 and ZEUS 2 PRO: first smartphones compatible with SPC Care
SPC also took advantage of MWC 2025 to present the first smartphones for seniors compatible with SPC Care, which will be released this spring: SPC ZEUS 2 PRO and SPC ZEUS 2. Both devices, fully integrated with the app, offer remote control so caregivers of elderly people can manage all settings and parameters of these devices remotely.
To facilitate daily use, SPC ZEUS 2 PRO and SPC ZEUS 2 maintain the features typical of this device range launched in 2022 with the first ZEUS 4G and incorporate important improvements.
Both models have two physical buttons on the front to quickly answer and end calls without needing to rely on the touchscreen; plus a senior-friendly interface adapted to the visual needs of elderly users with large icons and an integrated SOS button, ideal for quickly and easily alerting emergency situations. Additionally, the new ZEUS 2 series makes a leap in specifications, and both models include advanced features such as facial unlock and eSIM.
On this occasion, SPC ZEUS 2 PRO is complemented with fingerprint unlock functions to enhance security. It also features a dual 50 MP AI camera and an 8 MP selfie camera, along with a 6.1” HD+ screen for clear viewing. It includes 128 GB of storage, 6 GB of RAM (expandable to 8 GB with virtual RAM), and offers NFC, wireless charging, and fast charging up to 18W via USB-C.
Meanwhile, SPC ZEUS 2 has a 5” HD screen and a 13 MP rear camera plus a 5 MP selfie camera for sharp photos and video calls. With 4 GB of expandable RAM and 64 GB of storage, its charging base and 10W reversible USB-C support make recharging easier for users with less manual dexterity.
SPC Care: the first remote care app evolves with new features
With the second phase of SPC Care development, SPC continues its commitment to creating devices aimed at bridging the digital divide and promoting healthy aging for seniors, while relatives stay connected to them, caring for and ensuring their safety. It is worth noting that the mobile phone market in our country generates an approximate volume of half a million units annually of mobile phones mostly aimed at the elderly.
Launched in 2024, SPC Care is the first remote care app for seniors in Spain. The solution, exclusive to the brand for SPC devices, allows caregivers and relatives of elderly people to remotely control the senior user's mobile phone by managing all device parameters to facilitate its use for people with less technological knowledge.
Thus, from SPC Care, caregivers can customize sound levels, font size, or screen brightness of the senior's phone; and remotely ensure the physical and digital safety of elderly people as it allows configuring the SOS button or adding contacts to the address book and blacklist to protect them from SPAM and fraudulent calls/SMS. Additionally, SPC Care sends a notification to relatives or caregivers if the senior's phone has missed calls and new messages, or if the cared-for person has pressed the emergency button. The app also shows the location of the elderly person through its GPS geolocation function.
Now, with the launch of the second phase, the app evolves to become a true Personal Health Assistant, helping to prevent risk situations, improve the autonomy of elderly people, and facilitate the assistance work of relatives and caregivers for our seniors.
