SPC ZEUS 2 PRO: the first SPC smartphone with remote management, Easy Mode, and physical keys tailored to senior users’ needs
The new SPC device is a smartphone custom-designed for senior users, with features and functions especially thought out for them such as practical physical keys that make answering and ending calls easier, a convenient charging dock that helps keep the phone charged and visible, and an SOS button that allows emergency alerts.
Additionally, ZEUS 2 PRO includes an Easy Mode that adapts the smartphone interface to make it more intuitive and accessible for seniors or people with visual or motor difficulties. This mode guides the user through a virtual setup assistant until the usual Android environment is adapted into a simplified menu with large, colorful icons, enlarged text, most-used contacts displayed large with photos, and a simplified app drawer with shortcuts to apps and device settings. All this facilitates daily use and reduces possible errors or confusion.
The new SPC ZEUS 2 PRO not only incorporates technical specifications adapted to seniors but also integrates into SPC Care’s remote care service portfolio, the first app in Spain that allows free remote access to the brand’s senior phones, offering family members and caregivers remote management of seniors’ devices and assisting them from a distance without invading their autonomy. Until now, SPC Care was only available for basic SPC phones without internet access. Today, the app presents a renewed version adapted for managing SPC ZEUS 2 PRO. SPC Care* is presented as an effective solution so that distance is not an obstacle to caring for those we love most, since by downloading it on the caregiver’s smartphone, it allows control of various ZEUS 2 PRO parameters, as well as knowing the senior’s location and how they are using their phone.
· Remote configuration: with the new ZEUS 2 PRO, SPC Care adds exclusive new features for the brand’s senior smartphones such as management of the user’s Google contacts list (available in upcoming updates) or screen icon organization allowing the caregiver to resize, reorder, create folders, or lock icons to prevent accidental moves or deletions. From the caregiver’s smartphone, it is also possible to remotely configure the senior’s device by adjusting volume if they can’t hear well, increasing text size if they have trouble reading, or even configuring the SOS button settings. The caregiver also has visibility over other basic settings like battery level, WiFi, GPS, or mobile data.
· Safety alerts and activity notifications: these new functions add to the app’s system of alerts and notifications that send warnings to the caregiver when ZEUS 2 PRO’s battery is low, if the SOS button has been pressed, after customizable inactivity periods of 8, 12, or 24 hours, if there have been changes in device settings, or when screen icons have been moved, helping detect unusual situations or moments when the senior may need assistance.
· Real-time location: it also allows knowing the device’s real-time location via the GPS function, to know if the user has reached their destination or is back home, among other practical uses.
· Health reminders: through the app, caregivers can set reminders for their senior relatives’ medical appointments, medications, and treatment schedules.
Additionally, the app allows collaborative management, meaning multiple caregivers can manage the same senior profile, or manage different profiles from the same device. This supports shared, more flexible, and accessible care for different family members.
