Pipper, the influencer dog
Do you want to travel with your pet?
Pipper, the influencer dog, will be your guide and help you discover the “dog friendly” corners of Spain through videos and reports on social media.
Pipper, the influencer dog, is the “first tourist dog in the country”. This is how this dog introduces himself on his website, where he explains that from May this year to May next year, he will visit 50 “must-see” destinations to know where to eat, where to sleep, and what to visit with his “human buddy” in Spain.
Right now, Pipper is “on tour”, that is, in the middle of a tour through several Spanish cities to help humans with pets know where they can go and what they can visit if they decide to travel with them (bars, restaurants, hotels, shops, routes, excursions…).
If you have a pet and every time you plan a trip you get overwhelmed with doubts about where it will be allowed and where both of you can enjoy without problems, Pipper, the influencer dog, will be your guide and the solution to these problems.
Pipper, the influencer dog: on all social networks
You can follow him on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, his Youtube channel, or his website, Pipperontour.
Pipper, a two-year-old Parson Russel Terrier, walks the paths any dog could walk, plays ball in every city he visits, and meanwhile, showcases some of Spain's most well-known tourist destinations.
You can also find hotels to rest with your companion, restaurants where both are welcome, and paths suitable for two and four legs.
So far, he has visited Salamanca (in Castilla y León), San Sebastián-Donosti (Basque Country), and San Lorenzo del Escorial. His walks have been captured in photos and videos and you can see them on his multiple social networks.
This idea came from Pablo Muñoz Gabilondo, a Basque journalist based in Madrid who decided to launch an initiative to promote tourism with dogs and offer those travelers who have a four-legged companion “dog friendly” suggestions and proposals.
Being Spain the second most visited country in the world, Gabilondo, in the pure style of a entrepreneur, thought, according to the website Pipperontour, that people needed to be made aware of tourist destinations and businesses that accept dogs like Pipper, the influencer dog, in their premises or spaces.
In fact, the “significant increase” in pets in recent years has led more and more Spaniards to demand these services. It is also influenced by the fact that, at the same time, registrations of foreign tourists - who are more accustomed to integrating their pets into their daily lives - have grown, which has made it possible to start considering this possibility in establishments as a way to attract all kinds of tourists, including animal lovers.
That is why the “dog friendly” spaces that Pipper, the influencer dog, looks for and shows us are a “business niche” in the tourism sector, explain those responsible for launching the initiative.
But the most important thing is that they help people socialize and can contribute to reducing animal abandonment, one of the main goals of Pipper, the influencer dog, and a problem that several associations, shelters, the Guardia Civil, and the Police fight against every summer in Spain.
The project is supported by the Junta de Castilla y León, Bayer, Dingo Natura, Renfe, and Trixie, and has become a trend on social media and in various media outlets, as Pipper sparks curiosity wherever he goes.
If you want Pipper to visit your city, you can also write to him and suggest it... the project is open to advice, so if you know Pipper will visit your city and want to recommend a café, a good place to eat, or somewhere to sleep and rest, you can write to him through his website.
Who knows? Maybe Pipper could even visit some of the music festivals held every year in Spain, or find out where to watch the matches of the 2018 Russia World Cup.
In June, Pipper will visit Rias Baixas, Santiago de Compostela, and La Coruña; in July, Asturias, Cantabria, and León; and in August, the Basque Country and Palencia, and so on, until he tours all around Spain in a journey where both dogs and humans are welcome.
Get ready to follow Pipper's adventures!
