A cloud service that allows you to gather all your Pokémon.
Discover the new space where you can gather all your Pokémon, transfer them, or trade them
Pokémon HOME is a cloud service for Nintendo Switch and compatible mobile devices that allows you to gather all your Pokémon.
By linking the same Nintendo account to the Pokémon HOME version for Nintendo Switch and the version for mobile devices, you can access your boxes from both versions.
Pokémon HOME will allow you several actions, the most notable being transferring Pokémon characters between compatible games or trading them whenever and wherever you want.
Transfer and trade
As we said before, Pokémon HOME is a cloud service that allows you to store all the Pokémon you have obtained in different games of the series, even if they are from different platforms. For example, you can store those you have obtained in Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS games, and in the future, you will also be able to store those you have caught in Pokémon Go.

The mobile platform will also allow you to manage these Pokémon, check their traits, or make trades. In the free version, you can only store 30 Pokémon, so if that is not enough for you, it is better to try the Premium version, a paid one to give it more life and use it more seriously. This is just one of the advantages that this extended version offers users.
The Pokémon HOME version for Nintendo Switch can connect with the video games Pokémon Sword, Pokémon Shield, Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let's Go, Eevee!.
BEWARE! If you transfer a Pokémon from Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let's Go, Eevee! to Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield, it will not be able to return to its original game! Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield are compatible with the Pokémon HOME version for Nintendo Switch. All Pokémon you obtain in those games can be transferred and withdrawn.
Now we move on to the trading function. Here you can trade your Pokémon with other users who can be on your friends list or, if you prefer, you can create a group for trades among several people.
Mystery gifts and more features
Pokémon HOME holds more unexpected features for its users. For example, the mobile version offers surprises and mystery gifts from Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield as well as others specific to Pokémon HOME. You will also find your Personal Corner, the place reserved for information about events and games connected with Pokémon HOME.

On the other hand, in the mobile version you can also check the status of the Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield competitions, as well as learn, among other useful information, which Pokémon are being used in these battles.
Pokémon: the leap from the home screen to the mobile screen
It is well known that Pokémon GO is an augmented reality game for iOS and Android devices based on location that consists of searching for and capturing Pokémon hidden in real-world locations to then be able to battle with them.
What you might not have known or remembered is that the Pokémon Go concept was born in 2016 as a joke for April Fools’ Day, similar to our Day of the Innocents, celebrated in many countries in Europe and America. At that time, Pokémon Company, in collaboration with Google Maps, announced the Pokémon Challenge.
Users had to search for Pokémon across Google Maps worldwide. The next day, when the joke ended, the good reception the idea had among users was confirmed. Three years later, in March 2016, the beta version of the game was released to 100 players. It was in July of the same year that the game was officially launched in the United States, arriving just a few days later in Spain.
Three years after its launch, in 2019, the earnings of this game reached 894 million dollars, its best figure since its birth, when it achieved 832 million dollars.
Pokémon is not free from controversy
As usually happens with all new things that generate a lot of initial noise, the application received many followers but also multiple criticisms. Some of these were directed at the locations where some Pokémon were hidden, in some cases being the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum, the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, the National September 11 Memorial & Museum, and the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum.

The game also has in its history user deaths while trying to catch Pokémon. The first death in Japan attributed to Pokémon Go occurred at the end of August 2016. A distracted driver playing the game killed a woman and seriously injured another. In January 2017, a Chinese-American civilian was shot dead while playing Pokémon Go.
News: how to catch Pokémon without leaving home
Pokémon Go has recently been updated to allow catching Pokémon without needing to leave home, so it is a fantastic alternative to stay entertained these days. What new features do we find in the game? You will not need to update the app, let's see:
-
- Incense: from now on you can buy 30 incenses for just one coin. Also, incenses will now last twice as long and you will enjoy 1 hour during which Pokémon will come closer to wherever you are.
- Eggs: they will now hatch with half the distance traveled. We know you should only go out for the absolutely necessary, but at least on those short trips you will have more chances to hatch one.
- PokéStops: spinning a PokéStop will have more chances to get items, so if you have one right under your house, you know what to do!
- Pokémon: they will appear in new locations and more frequently. Look around and you will surely find one.
- Legendary raid hour: these have been temporarily canceled just like the March Community Day.
Niantic has not shared how long these changes will last, but it is expected to be for the entire duration of the current situation. Meanwhile, take advantage of playing Pokémon Go from your home and keep completing your Pokédex.
