Connect the line cord to the telephone socket and to the phone. You do not need batteries to make or receive calls; they are only necessary if you want to use the screen light.

Yes. The telephone still works to make and receive calls without batteries. The lit screen is the only thing that needs batteries.

You can save up to 4 numbers on the keys M1 to M4 and call them by simply picking up the receiver and pressing the corresponding button. You also have 10 additional speed dial memories.
