Show your inner #rotoscope with this new TikTok filter

If we look up the word “rotoscope” in the dictionary of the Royal Spanish Academy we don’t find any definition that helps us understand what this new viral TikTok filter means.

If we check Wikipedia, we see that rotoscope is defined as: “The rotoscope is a machine that allows animators to design images for animated films, traditionally cartoons, although it can be used for certain special effects (like the lightsabers in the 1977 Star Wars movie).” We can get some idea from this, but to understand it best, let’s go to the leading social network and take a look at the nearly 54 million views it already has.

TikTok describes this filter as follows: “How many times do you end up doing the complete opposite of what you were doing? Or that feeling when you remember something that makes you happy? Bring out your #Rotoscope by joining this viral effect.” So, remember a happy moment or that situation where you did exactly the opposite of what you had in mind and add that touch of color and music that the rotoscope filter brings.

The good part? You don’t have to be alone, another person can join your filter who will also show their inner rotoscope. Don’t think this trend is minor, because it’s also big among celebrities. For example, recently the El Hormiguero profile uploaded to their channel TikTok a video with Pablo Motos and Javier Cámara showing us their respective rotoscopes, and they looked like this!

And since imagination is free and has no boundaries, the videos from users who use this filter have evolved. Many profiles hide behind this filter to undress without anyone seeing anything or the app censoring their videos or images. What these users might not know is that it is said, it is rumored, that there are already third-party apps that remove this filter, allowing you to see what is really on the other side of the video, without filters hiding it. We haven’t tried them because these programs are not available on the Play Store, so we can neither confirm nor deny the information, but… consider yourself warned.

And you, what moment would you like to share with your entire TikTok community to show their rotoscope?
