Take care of your health with ATENEA FIT PRO: smart scale with measuring bar, 8 electrodes, and 28 metrics

More and more, we are becoming aware of the importance of taking care of our physical condition and well-being. Especially after the pandemic, when we were forced to adopt healthy habits in our daily lives due to the lockdown situation, which prevented us from maintaining our usual sports and nutrition routines.

That is why many people now want to know their health status and prefer to monitor their physical condition from home. For them, smart scales are the solution for several reasons:

.- ease of use,

.- comprehensive monitoring with numerous metrics and body values,

.- they provide very precise information about our visceral fat level, a key value to understand how healthy our body is and to prevent serious health issues,

.- information about where we store the most fat mass so we can work on reducing it,

.- the ability to track your progress through progress charts and the option to compare two specific weigh-ins for greater motivation, and

.- compact size and professional results.

For all these reasons, we have designed and developed the new ATENEA FIT PRO, a smart scale that syncs with the SPC IoT mobile app to upload all your body values to your smartphone and show you information about your body you might not have known before. Thanks to its measuring bar with retractable cable and the 8 electrodes distributed between the base and this bar, ATENEA FIT PRO offers reliable and precise results about our body composition and where it stores more fat and muscle. When providing this important data, the smart scale can differentiate between upper and lower limbs and the abdomen.

With all this data, ATENEA FIT PRO will calculate visceral fat. This is the fat stored in the abdominal area around our organs and it is essential to keep it under control to prevent serious diseases, as excess visceral fat can lead to heart problems, hypertension, or type 2 diabetes.

28 metrics for professional results

Discover your body’s condition and learn to interpret the 28 values that ATENEA FIT PRO provides with each weigh-in.

Weight: general estimate of body mass. This scale can measure weight in kilograms, pounds, or stones.

Fat percentage: the percentage of fat in your body relative to your total weight. Fat, in small amounts, is an energy source for activities and helps maintain body temperature. In large amounts, it can lead to obesity, as this condition is defined by the amount of fat in the body, not by weight alone.

ATENEA FIT PRO is based on the following values extracted from medical studies conducted by the WHO to determine whether the body fat level is optimal or not.

Fat mass (Kg) - The weight of the body fat. ATENEA FIT PRO can show you the amount of fat in the trunk or in each arm and leg individually.

Lean body mass - The body weight after subtracting fat weight.

Water: Moisture percentage: Body water is the percentage of total body fluid and refers to blood, lymph fluid, extracellular fluid, intracellular fluid, etc., and any other element containing water in the body. It does not refer to the amount of water consumed, so even if you drink a liter of water before weighing yourself, the water percentage will not change.

Muscle: muscle mass: This parameter measures skeletal muscle (the muscles we consciously contract, like biceps), smooth muscle (of internal organs, like intestines), and cardiac muscle (heart muscle) in our body.

Muscle percentage: the direct proportion of muscle relative to total weight. As with fat, ATENEA FIT PRO can show you the amount of muscle in the trunk or in each arm and leg individually.

Bone - Bone mass: Bone mass indicates the total amount of bone in the body. Bone density can be estimated from the weight of bone minerals such as calcium.

BMR: Basal Metabolic Rate: This can be defined as the minimum amount of energy needed to survive. It is the energy the body requires to perform functions of the respiratory system, circulatory system, nervous system, liver, and other organs in a calm state of body and mind. Also, the more muscle you have, the higher the metabolic value.

BMI - Body Mass Index: You have probably heard of this index used by international organizations to measure human obesity. BMI does not directly measure body fat content, but studies have shown it correlates with body fat content (according to WHO standards). The formula to calculate it is:

BMI = weight (kg) / [height (m)]2

It is just a reference value, but it is clear that if you have a high weight because you have a lot of muscle, your BMI will be high; however, this does not mean you are obese.

Visceral fat: The visceral fat level reflects the degree of abdominal fat accumulation around organs. Maintaining an appropriate visceral fat index can greatly reduce the risk of heart disease, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia. ATENEA FIT PRO can accurately calculate your visceral fat level based on all the precise and individualized measurement parameters it takes from different parts of the body.

Body age: Body age is determined by the BMR value obtained. This value gradually decreases as we age. Also, as mentioned before, BMR is closely related to muscle mass. Therefore, those with a lot of muscle mass will generally have a high basal metabolic rate and, consequently, a younger body age.

Protein: Measures protein level standards as shown below.

Subcutaneous fat: Subcutaneous fat is fat stored between the skin and muscles; in other words, it’s what you can pinch on your belly, sides, etc. Generally, women tend to accumulate subcutaneous fat more easily than men, and it is harder to eliminate.

Ideal weight: According to the international formula, the calculation for ideal weight is:
Men: (Height cm - 80) x 0.7 = Ideal weight
Women: (Height cm - 70) x 0.6 = Ideal weight

Body score: This score from 1 to 100 given by ATENEA FIT PRO is obtained based on the results of several measured parameters. The higher the score, the healthier the body.

Body type

This scale categorizes body type based on muscle mass and fat. As we saw earlier, a fat percentage below 30% for women and 20% for men is considered appropriate. Based on this, here are the 9 body types recognized by ATENEA FIT PRO and what each means:

  • Thin - You have very little fat and muscle.
  • Skinny - You have very little muscle and an adequate amount of fat.
  • Invisible Obesity - Although you may not look it, you have quite a bit of fat and little muscle.
  • Slender - You have very little fat and some muscle.
  • Defined - You have very little fat and a defined amount of muscle.
  • Healthy - You have the right amount of fat and muscle.
  • Muscular - You have very little fat and a large amount of muscle.
  • Overweight - Your physiological parameters are a bit high; check your fat and muscle percentages and take appropriate measures.
  • Obese - Your physiological parameters are elevated; check your fat and muscle percentages and take appropriate measures.
