As you gradually use your mobile device, you lose the fluency and speed it had when it was brand new. Discover how to speed up your smartphone and enjoy optimal performance in your daily activities, thanks to the tips offered by SPC, the Spanish consumer technology brand.
Our mobile device is such an essential tool in our daily lives that it could be said to have become “an extension of ourselves.” We use it to communicate, shop, look up information, or share our moments of relaxation and leisure on social media. However, over time, the smartphone may start to run slower than usual and expected.
To speed up your mobile phone and enjoy the same performance as when it was fresh out of the box, SPC, the Spanish consumer electronics brand, offers these practical and simple tips:
Keep RAM under control: manage apps running in the background and clear the cache
RAM is responsible for running applications, and over time it fills up, eventually slowing down the device. To address this, there are several improvement options, such as managing apps running in the background and frequently clearing the cache. If you need extra help clearing the cache of each app, there are cleaning apps that automate this process, saving you time.
Also, restart your device periodically to completely clear the RAM. This will allow apps to be used for long periods without experiencing slowdowns or performance issues.
Disable device animations to improve speed
While the visual effects installed on the device give it an exceptional finish, some animations can consume too many resources and make the interface feel slower. To fix this, check in Settings > Accessibility that you don’t have unnecessary animation options enabled.
Another way to improve performance is to go to the developer options in system settings (if not visible, go to "About phone" and tap "Build number" several times until it activates). Once there, find the "Window animation scale" option and set animation values to 0.5x or turn them off completely. This will speed up transitions between apps and screens.
Additionally, to keep navigation through your smartphone smooth, disable widgets you no longer use, as they consume memory. Use only the essential ones.
Free up internal storage space: delete apps and files you no longer use
If you have many apps installed or a large number of files in your smartphone storage, they may be taking up too much space and slowing down the system. Look for installed apps and delete those you don’t use frequently to keep the device running smoothly.
Also, review your photo and video gallery, as these files are quite large, and delete files you don’t need, using the feature that allows you to back up files to the cloud. The more free space you have, the better the overall performance.
Reset to factory settings
If in an emergency you have tried all the above tricks and still experience performance issues, you can consider resetting your smartphone to factory settings. Before doing so, make sure to back up your important data, as this process will erase all information on your device. A factory reset will give you a clean starting point and make your smartphone run as if it just came from the factory, providing the fluency and efficiency you need in your daily life.
