How is it different from WhatsApp?

WhatsApp is designed for communication between adults. SPC Circles puts children and their safety at the centre.

While WhatsApp is an open environment where anyone can start a conversation, in SPC Circles, trusted circles are created only by people authorised by the caregivers. They can also send audio and photos, but they are shielded: they cannot be downloaded, shared or captured.

How is it different from parental control apps like Google Family Link?

Google Family Link helps monitor and manage children's use of their devices. Circles also includes secure communication only with authorised contacts, digital agreements and family decisions.

While Family Link focuses on the device, Circles focuses on relationships, digital education and family engagement, because it’s designed to accompany the first digital steps of children and teenagers.

Can grandparents, family or friends participate even if they don't have an SPC device?

Yes. SPC Circles is available for Android and iOS, so any family member or trusted person can download the app and become part of the family circles, regardless of the mobile phone they use.

Who can contact my child through SPC Circles?

Only people who are part of their circle of trust.

Each new contact must be pre-approved by the administrator, who will receive a request to accept or reject it. This ensures that the child's digital environment consists only of family, friends and close person.

Does Circles allow my child to watch YouTube, log in to WhatsApp or any other app?

Yes, if you so choose.
