Both models, ZEUS 4G PRO and ZEUS 4G, are Android smartphones that combine all the features and advantages of this operating system with some unique characteristics, such as an easy-to-use interface with very large icons and physical buttons.
These devices also include an SOS button and SPC’s Smart Help intelligent care options, such as Remote Configuration and Smart Notifications (which alert a designated contact in case of inactivity).
According to recent data from the INE, more than 2 million people over 65 live alone in our country. In response, SPC, the Spanish technology company specialized in consumer electronics, expands its range of smartphones for seniors to ensure they stay connected with their families and, at the same time, help their loved ones care for them from a distance.
This dual purpose is perfectly fulfilled by the new addition to SPC’s senior smartphone lineup. It is the ZEUS 4G PRO, which features characteristics specially designed for people who need an Android smartphone that allows them to download their favorite apps and is very easy to use, thanks to its simplified interface with large, colorful icons, practical physical buttons for answering and ending calls, and direct access to the main device settings.
All this is complemented by a SOS button to alert in emergencies as well as SPC’s Smart Help, a set of intelligent features designed not only to make the device easier for seniors to use but also to help their families care for them when they cannot be physically present. With this option, the closest contacts of senior users can remotely configure some settings on the ZEUS 4G PRO and receive notifications in case of unusual inactivity on the smartphone.
This new device follows in the footsteps of SPC APOLO, the first smartphone with features specially designed for seniors, which launched in the national market in 2020. This SPC release was very well received by the public due to the significant innovation the company introduced at that time in the mobile phone industry for elderly people in Spain with an innovative and distinctive device.
A smartphone that is very easy to use
You don’t need to be used to handling smartphones to operate this model smoothly. To simplify its use, it includes front physical buttons and SPC’s Easy Mode, a very intuitive and easy-to-use interface (which can be switched at any time to the usual Android interface). In this regard, it features large, brightly colored icons so that each app has its own color and is easily identifiable. To make contacting close family members very simple, the left side of the home screen can display large photos and names of six favorite contacts who can be called or messaged just by tapping their icon.
This device also includes the Shortcuts app, which allows users to activate and deactivate the most used smartphone settings (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, airplane mode, mobile data…) with a simple click. Additionally, to ensure senior users always have quick access to their most frequently used apps, ZEUS 4G PRO includes the APPS option. By opening it and with a simple tap, users can select from all installed and Play Store downloaded applications those they want to appear on the screen, as well as hide the less used ones.
This model also features a convenient charging dock to keep it visible while charging its 2,400 mAh battery, ensuring it is always charged. It also has a reversible USB Type-C connector, so it can be charged without always needing the dock. Additionally, the device includes a flexible case that protects it from bumps and accidental drops and provides greater impact resistance.
The new smartphone offers many other practical functions for users. Among them, direct access to FM Radio and a flashlight that activates with a long press (to avoid accidental activation in a pocket) on the dedicated button it includes.
Always by your seniors’ side
ZEUS 4G PRO is a great ally for the well-being of elderly people and also for the peace of mind of their families, as it includes Smart Help, a set of three intelligent help functions from SPC that, among other options, alerts a trusted phone number in case of unusual inactivity on the device. In this regard, the Smart Notifications function sends an SMS to a preconfigured number if it detects less than 15% battery remaining or at least one missed call unattended.
Meanwhile, the Smart Ringer option increases the phone’s volume if, after a first missed call, the same number calls again within three minutes. Once the call is answered, the volume returns to the previous level.
To ensure the smartphone is properly configured and adjusted according to the user’s needs, it includes the third intelligent help function, Remote Configuration, which allows a trusted contact to configure the ZEUS 4G PRO remotely from their own phone. By sending SMS messages with predefined codes, they can activate and/or deactivate and configure the SOS button, add contacts to the address book, or raise the ringtone, earpiece, and speaker volume to maximum.
In addition to these functions, the new SPC phone also includes an SOS button that the user can press on the back. With a long press (to avoid accidental activation), this button makes calls and sends SMS messages with a customizable emergency message along with the user’s mobile location to up to three trusted numbers. When one of them answers, the speakerphone function automatically activates so the user can easily communicate with the caller and the caller can hear what is happening in the background.
The communicative power of a smartphone
ZEUS 4G PRO is, above all, a smartphone, so contact and communication with loved ones are guaranteed. Its 13 MP rear camera allows taking both photos and videos (with 1080p resolution and 30 fps) to share with family, while its 5 MP front camera enables video calls or taking selfies with family and friends. All these memories are safely stored in its 32 GB internal memory (expandable by up to 512 GB via MicroSD card) and can be enjoyed in full on its 5.5-inch IPS touchscreen with an 18:9 aspect ratio, HD+ resolution (1400 x 720 pixels), and 16.7 million colors.
This device is powered by a quad-core 2 GHz processor and an IMG GE8300 graphics card which, together with its 3 GB RAM, provide the speed and smoothness the user needs. All this is complemented by Android 11 as the operating system and connectivity options including 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, and Bluetooth 5.0. It also features a 3.5 mm jack for users who want to continue using traditional wired headphones and includes Dual SIM functionality, allowing two different numbers to be used.
