SPC Simple Mode

Developed for SPC (Smart Products Connection)

SPC Easy Mode is a start application (launcher) personalized included in SPC phone models designed especially for older adults or with vision/use difficulties of the smartphone. Its goal is to offer an experience simpler, clearer, and more accessible to improve their digital autonomy.

App Management: Ability to organize or delete shortcuts on the home screen.

Connection for Assistance: SPC Care

SPC Easy Mode can be linked with the assistance app SPC Care, available for Android and iOS. This app allows family members or caregivers previously authorized to assist the SPC phone user remotely.

Remote assistance functions through SPC Care include:

Assistance in Basic settings of the device.
Icon rearrangement or home screen shortcuts.
General assistance in phone usage.

Use of OAuth Access to Google Contacts

SPC Easy Mode requests access to the user's Google Contacts scope exclusively to enable remote contact management by the authorized family member or caregiver through app SPC Care.

The primary goal is well-being and assistance:

This permission allows the caregiver to keep the user's emergency and family contacts updated without the user having to navigate Android's advanced settings.

With this permission, the caregiver can remotely:

Add new contacts.
Remove contacts existing.
Edit a contact's information (name, photo, or phone number).

Google Privacy, Security, and Compliance

Limited Use: SPC does not directly access contacts nor stores them on its servers without the intention of remote assistance. The use of the data is limited and justified for the assistive functionality of SPC Care.
Security: All access to Google data is done through OAuth 2.0, respecting Google's security and privacy policies, and through secure protocols (SSL/TLS).
Consent: The user is informed and must give their explicit consent during the OAuth flow and can revoke this access at any time from your Google account settings.
