The new Pokémon movie: Detective Pikachu
https://www.nintendo.es/Juegos/Nintendo-3DS/Detective-Pikachu-1329566.html DETECTIVE PIKACHU With Pokémon: Detective Pikachu you can dive into a different story where an ordinary young man, aspiring to become a Pokémon trainer, teams up with this peculiar character. With the release of the new video game in the Pokémon series just around the corner, a news item came from Twitter that no one expected, complete with a trailer. Next year, what seems to be the boldest venture developed by Pokémon: Detective Pikachu will reach screens worldwide. Detective Pikachu Detective Pikachu is a different and cheeky story that aims to surprise the usual audience of the Pokémon world. The film is presented as a cinematic version of the video game of the same name, which was released for Nintendo 3DS in 2016. The plot shows an ordinary young man named Tim Goodman who discovers he can communicate with a Pikachu. This Pikachu can solve crimes and will help Tim find the culprits to stop them. Together, they form a peculiar team that, besides stopping wrongdoers, will try to solve the mystery of where Tim’s father is. The game was aimed at children; however, the film seeks a different viewpoint. It has an aesthetic more typical of noir and detective films, where a Pikachu wearing a detective hat shows his most rebellious and daring side. It is a dark version that has nothing to do with the films in the series made so far. With it, its creators offer a different vision of Pokémon, designed for a different audience and focused on a detective thriller that avoids the anime style and includes large doses of humor, so get ready to laugh. Detective Pikachu aims for satire, something that will be reflected in the dialogues, situations, and references that seek to caricature the Pokémon series itself during its more than 20 years of existence. This is clear from watching the trailer, where it is obvious that the film was made not to be taken seriously. The trailer for the film directed by Letterman was not well received by fans of the series who defended the Pokémon world as something impossible to adapt to film. Some considered it the worst thing that could have been done to this series, but the brand has sought to avoid the childish stereotypes created around its characters and to experiment with other facets of them. Ryan Reynolds will voice Pikachu One of the first details to emerge about the new Pokémon film was who would be the voice of Detective Pikachu. The producers wanted to have Ryan Reynolds as this special investigator. Reynolds has already played other superheroes in films, giving them a personality different from what we were used to. Thus, in 2016, Deadpool was released, a film that showed that a movie rated R could be a true box office hit (it earned 782 million dollars). Accompanying Pikachu on this adventure are a series of characters already appearing in the video games, but whose look and personality have been adapted to fit the new film and its tone. For this reason, we find Jigglypuff looking quite miserable and in conditions you would never see in a children’s film, or Mr. Mime, who is quite frightening. For now, the release date is unknown, although everything points to the summer of 2019. To whet your appetite and let you judge for yourself whether it is the best of all the Pokémon films made or a total failure, here is the trailer.
