SPC VESTA THERMOSTAT: new IoT thermostat that remotely controls even the smallest temperature fluctuations and saves heating energy

SPC VESTA THERMOSTAT allows you to manage your home temperature from your smartphone, schedule the boiler to automatically reach the desired temperature, and even set it to activate when you approach a geofenced area.

The device includes advanced features for enhanced safety and energy savings, such as customizable hysteresis, open window detection, parental control, and freeze risk detection for pipes.

This smart thermostat is launching today with a special introductory price, so everyone who buys it on the SPC website will enjoy a €10 discount until November 15.

Just weeks before the end of the regulated electricity tariff, established by the Government in 2022 to help households and businesses mitigate the effects of the energy crisis, SPC, the Spanish consumer technology brand, has introduced the new SPC VESTA THERMOSTAT. It is a smart thermostat with WiFi connectivity designed so users can manage their home temperature from anywhere in the world in a fully personalized way.

SPC VESTA THERMOSTAT is suitable for homes with individual boilers as well as those with central heating and individual meters. In both cases, the device installation is plug and play: just place and connect the gateway, download the SPC IoT app on your mobile device, and sync the thermostat. From then on, the user can control the temperature from their smartphone and also take advantage of the many smart features offered by VESTA THERMOSTAT.

Energy and cost savings

This smart solution stands out for a set of features that provide advanced capabilities for temperature management and energy savings.

One of the main functions offered by VESTA THERMOSTAT is the customization of hysteresis or trigger sensitivity to activate the boiler. The temperature range you select, which can be between 0º and 3º, will determine when the boiler starts and stops. For example, if you set a trigger temperature of 21ºC and hysteresis at 0.5º, the device will activate the boiler when the temperature drops to 20.5ºC and deactivate it when the temperature reaches 21.5ºC. This way, the thermostat manages the boiler’s operation, avoiding frequent on/off cycles caused by minor temperature fluctuations, which would be costly and inefficient environmentally.

SPC aims for maximum comfort, efficiency, and peace of mind for users. That’s why VESTA THERMOSTAT also includes an “open window detection” feature that automatically turns off the heating if it detects a temperature drop of at least three degrees within 15 minutes. If it detects the temperature rising again, the heating will reactivate so the user doesn’t have to worry about it after closing the windows. This is very useful when airing the house in winter, helping maintain good air quality without compromising temperature or energy consumption.

Usage modes and anti-freeze function for completely safe home climate control

The device features a Programming Mode that allows setting four time slots for each day of the week, so users can specify the desired temperature for each time of day.

If the user prefers not to automate settings, the Manual Mode lets them raise or lower the temperature at any time via the SPC app or directly on the device.

Additionally, the Away Mode lets you set a preset temperature automatically. This function aims to achieve two goals: first, to prevent heating from reaching high temperatures when the home is empty, avoiding energy waste; second, to avoid the temperature dropping too low when no one is home, which would cool the rooms excessively and require extra energy and cost to reheat upon return.

You can also choose to activate the geolocation feature included in the thermostat management app, the SPC IoT app, which detects when the user enters a previously configured and personalized perimeter. This way, when you are near home, the thermostat will automatically turn on the heating until it reaches the temperature you set.

VESTA THERMOSTAT allows you to adjust the temperature shown on the touch display. If you think the displayed temperature doesn’t match the actual room temperature, it has a function to compensate for this deviation by calibrating its internal temperature sensor.

Also, to prevent children from accidentally changing settings, the Parental Control feature locks the device so only an authorized adult can operate it.

The device also includes a freeze protection function for heating pipes. It activates when the thermostat is off and the temperature falls below 5°C. At that point, the boiler will run until the temperature reaches 8°C and then turn off again, preventing damage to the system and freezing of the water inside. This is an optional feature that can be configured via the app and can be disabled if the user wishes.

Easy installation and mobile control

The smart thermostat VESTA THERMOSTAT is self-installable, replacing the traditional thermostat. It features an elegant and attractive white design with curved edges, giving the room a modern and sophisticated touch. It operates wirelessly, powered by batteries or USB, and is compatible with individual gas boilers or community boilers with individual meters.

Once installed, the user can configure different usage modes and temperatures from the device, although full potential is unlocked through the SPC app, where you can control all settings and access a data history to better understand your home energy consumption habits and seek maximum efficiency.

Additionally, it is compatible with other IoT products from the brand, as well as Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. This innovative device has everything needed to ensure the desired comfort in your home during winter while saving energy and money at the end of the month.

Price and availability

SPC VESTA THERMOSTAT goes on sale today at a special launch price with a €10 discount, so everyone who purchases it by November 15 on the SPC website can get it for €99.90. After that date, VESTA THERMOSTAT will return to its official retail price of €109.90.
